Doosan, IBM Expands Tie-Up in Digital Solutions, AI Strategies, ESG

IBM and Korea's Doosan Group expanded their cooperation to include AI, ESG, and digital solutions.

Doosan Group and International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) announced they have expanded their partnership in digital solutions and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) during a recent executive meeting in the United States. The companies also mentioned that they will start working on artificial intelligence strategies.

The Doosan Group and IBM Corp. discussed further collaborations on the mentioned segments in New York City late last week. At the meeting, the South Korean company was represented by its vice chairman, Park Ji Won, who met with IBM senior executives, including Chairman Arvind Krishna and senior vice president Rob Thomas, as per Pulse News.

Strengthening Their Ties in Various Businesses

The Doosan Group confirmed on Sunday, April 7, that its cooperation with IBM has been expanded. The companies said they will boost their ties in the digital solutions business and work more on AI this time.

During the meeting, the executives evaluated the current status of their collaborative projects. They have also discussed future plans for these ongoing works while exchanging insights on different technological trends for their future projects.

Doosan to Adopt IBM’s Technology

Doosan Group said its renewed partnership with IBM is mainly to enhance their tie-up in digital solutions. The South Korean heavy equipment manufacturer company has teamed up with IBM to set up the enterprise resource planning system in Doosan Bobcat. This leading global company specializes in building compact construction equipment, utility equipment, and portable power.

Doosan adopted IBM’s operational technology security solutions and formed artificial intelligence strategies together. According to Korea Joongang Daily, Doosan aims to digitize its Doosan Enerbility unit, Doosan Robotics, and other subsidiaries through its tie-up with IBM. Finally, the firm’s vice chairman, Park Ji Won, also visited the latter’s quantum research and development center for joint efforts in quantum computing technologies.
