COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Feb. 16, 2016 -- The DoubleTree by Hilton Colorado Springs Hotel, located off I-25 and just minutes from the Colorado Springs Airport, is now under new management and ownership. As the closest full-service hotel to Fort Carson, and conveniently located to a comprehensive list of world class attractions including the Broadmoor World Arena, Pikes Peak, also known as “America’s Mountain,” the Air Force Academy, and Garden of the Gods, voted the number one park in the nation, it is the perfect destination for both business and leisure travelers.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Colorado Springs was acquired by an affiliate of GF Management in January of 2016. GF Management is a leading national hotel ownership and management company, specializes in hotels, resorts, golf courses and other related hospitality assets. GF Management has pledged $7 million in renovations at the property.
“We are very proud to add The DoubleTree by Hilton Colorado Springs Hotel to our outstanding portfolio,” said Vineet Nayyar, Senior Vice President of Operations for GF Management. “We are confident the extensive renovation we have planned, along with the implementation of our proven management systems, will elevate this hotel to a leader in the market.”
Enhancements at the 299-room DoubleTree by Hilton Colorado Springs are due to begin in February 2016. Immediate attention will be given to the guest room experience—upgrades include new Sweet Dreams Beds and bedding, the installation of new 49” HD flat screen televisions in all guestrooms and 55” HD flat screen televisions in all suites, both with expanded high definition channels, enhanced lighting, and more. Lobby, restaurant and bar renovations will follow, making the facility a best-in-class hotel in the Hilton family of brands.
An open and active lobby concept, where guests can come together to meet, connect, or relax, will be implemented, along with a new Grab & Go Café. The café is perfect for guests who would like to get a quick bite before a busy day, and will feature Starbucks Coffee®, teas, lattes, Frappuccinos and more. Located outside the Grab & Go Café will be a new business center, featuring a large community table and additional upgrades to enhance the business traveler’s experience. Complimentary internet access is available throughout the entire lobby.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Colorado Springs currently offers several on-site dining options for guests’ convenience and enjoyment. All will be receiving enhancements, with the bar area undergoing an extensive renovation. The new bar will feature local draft beers, specialty cocktails and more. An outdoor seating area with fire pits will also be added for those guests looking to relax over a meal outdoors.
GF Management has a long and distinguished history of award winning renovations that reposition hotels as top performers in their markets.
The management team will be led by veteran General Manger, Daniel Kammerer. Daniel has called Colorado Springs his home for the past four years. His most recent Hilton assignment was the Antlers Hilton in downtown Colorado Springs. He sits on the board of the Pikes Peak Lodging Association, Lodgers and Automobile Rental Tax Committee and Junior Achievement. A father and avid outdoorsman, Daniel has a keen eye for detail and is well known and respected by customers and the lodging community.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Colorado Springs is suitably located just 15 minutes away from the second most visited mountain, Pikes Peak, and Garden of the Gods, a natural national Colorado landmark. Additionally, the property is in close proximity to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, which houses 550 animals on 146 acres of land, and Manitou Cliff Dwellings, which houses many architectural remnants of an American Indian culture. Guests flying in or out of the Colorado Springs Airport can take advantage of the hotel’s complimentary shuttle, offering service to and from the airport and the neighboring community.
The property currently boasts a full service bar serving innovative libations, and the Atrium restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Additionally, The DoubleTree by Hilton Colorado Springs provides more than 25,000 square feet of event space, suitable for social, corporate and wedding events.
“We could not be more excited about this upcoming renovation,” Nayyar continues. “We take great pride in not only the service we provide to our guests, but the product in which it’s presented. We are confident guests will be thrilled with the end-result.”
GF Management is eager to bring new life to this hotel in the unique setting that only Colorado Springs can provide. Whether guests are planning a family vacation, romantic getaway or a business trip, countless amenities and fantastic service await them at the DoubleTree by Hilton Colorado Springs.
