The highly anticipated return of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is happening soon and the initial list of media events has been unveiled. The Entertainment Software Association, which organizes the annual gaming trade show, has also opened free registration for fans who want to be updated to the forthcoming announcements.
E3 schedule: All the confirmed presentations for the 4-day online show
E3 2021 starts on Saturday, June 12, and kicking off the 4-day virtual conference are Ubisoft and Gearbox Entertainment with a pre-show starting at 10 a.m. PDT. Details, such as the games to be presented are still under wraps, but Ubisoft fans should expect more announcements about “Far Cry 6.” Meanwhile, Gearbox is rumored to announce a “Borderlands” spin-off that will focus on Tiny Tina.
Sunday, June 13 is arguably one of the biggest days of E3 2021 because it is when Xbox and Bethesda will hold their join media event. The latter is widely expected to reveal a new “Starfield” trailer, that will possibly confirm its release window and whether it will be exclusive on Xbox consoles. Other presentations confirmed on the same day are coming from Square Enix, Warner Bros. Games, Back 4 Blood, and 24 Entertainment.
Capcom is one of the biggest gaming companies confirmed to have an E3 presentation on Monday, June 14. ESA currently lists a panel discussion on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion hosted by Take-Two Interactive, but it is still unclear if its subsidiaries (like Rockstar Games and 2K Games) will have presentations that day.
Nintendo is having its next Direct showcase on Tuesday, June 15, where the company will release teasers for its upcoming games that will likely include “The Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.” Bandai Namco is also confirmed to have an event this day, and many fans are likely hoping that it will include a new “Elden Ring” trailer. E3’s official award show will also take place on Tuesday.
Here’s how to register for free E3 access
Ordinary fans can now register for free through this link to get their credentials and later access the lineup of events on June 12-15 through the official E3 portal and app. They will only need to enter their names, location, email address, birthday, and create a password. This will give fans access to virtual lounges and exhibitor booths.
So far, gaming companies have already confirmed to stream their presentations through various websites and social media platforms. It also appears that E3 will make some of the events available outside of its portal and app via YouTube and Twitch.
