Many video game fans may have been quite disappointed last week when a new “Elden Ring” teaser was not part of The Game Awards 2020 presentations. While there is still no guarantee when a new trailer will be released, a reliable reporter advised anticipating gamers they need “a little bit more patience.”
‘Elden Ring’ release date: New teasers possible in early 2021?
In the weeks leading to the TGA event, many fans highly expected it would feature the newest “Elden Ring” teaser for several reasons. Expectations also ran high when the developer made a special post online to assure fans the game is still in development. There also have been several reports suggesting the game is approaching the final lap of development, making it possible for FromSoftware to reveal a new trailer.

Unfortunately, the Oscars for video games took place without any “Elden Ring” presentation. It is worth noting that the game, quite ironically, won the most anticipated award last Thursday.
Following its absence at TGA 2020, well-known video games insider Jeff Grubb encouraged fans to be more patient. “Here’s one thing I’ve heard that I can say: have a little bit more patience, but just a little bit more,” Grubb said during a GamesBeat podcast last Friday. “That doesn’t mean days, and I don’t think it quite means weeks, but it doesn’t mean months and months and months.”
Some reports have suggested that Grubb’s choice of words may be hinting at a new “Elden Ring” teaser reveal after a month or two. But just as the journalist said, fans have to be patient. As for a release date, various sources have also suggested the likelihood of a 2021 launch.
‘Elden Ring’ gameplay: Xbox’s Phil Spencer says it’s Hidetaka Miyazaki’s ‘most ambitious game’
Hidetaka Miyazaki’s work on previous dark fantasy games is enough to keep fans excited about “Elden Ring.” But it also helps to keep the titles early popularity up when other big names in the industry are saying good things about it. Just last month, Xbox head Phil Spencer confirmed he has played some “Elden Ring” and appreciated it to be Miyazaki’s “most ambitious game.”
Spencer told GameSpot that he loved the game after, “Seeing some of the gameplay mechanics stuff that he's tackling, he and the team are tackling this time, of the setting, working with another creator in terms of story." Miyazaki has worked with George R.R. Martin in developing the story of “Elden Ring.”
