‘Fallout 76’ Release Date, Features, Gameplay: Beta Dates for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC Announced

Bethesda

Bethesda Softworks senior vice president of global marketing and communications Pete Hines wasn’t kidding earlier this week when he said more details concerning the “Fallout 76” beta testing phase would be revealed soon.

The studio has officially announced that the “Fallout 76” beta will start on Oct. 23 for the Xbox One players, while PlayStation 4 and PC players will get their chance to test the game on Oct 30.

“During the B.E.T.A. one of our primary goals is to stress test and break the game. As such, the servers will not be running 24/7; instead, they’ll be online during targeted timeframes so we can get as many people as possible playing at the same time,” the statement on the website reads.

“On any given day the game might be up for anywhere between four to eight hours. Focusing as many players as we can into these windows is our prime objective.”

That makes sense because the developers will have to test the limits of the game before they release it.

The download size for the “Fallout 76” beta is approximately 45 GB since it’s said to contain the full version of the game. The good news is that PC players who joined the beta tests don’t have to re-download the game once it is launched, and the progress made by players in the beta will carry over to the final game as well. However, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players will reportedly have to download the launch version of the game.

To join the “Fallout 76” beta, you will have to pre-order the game to get a redemption code. You will also have to create a Bethesda.net account to play the game since it’s an online-only multiplayer game.

Bethesda will officially launch “Fallout 76” on Nov. 14 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
