“Fuller House” season 4 is finally arriving next week and more spoilers are still coming in fresh from the cast. It turns out this installment is going to be a season of romance not only for D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure) but also for her eldest son Jackson Fuller (Michael Fuller).
With barely two weeks left before the “Fuller House” season 4 premiere, Campion revealed that Jackson will go through a significant character development in the upcoming episodes. This will become more noticeable in how he handles his friendly and romantic relationships with his closest female friends.
Jackson and Rocki (Landry Bender) have become really close friends in season 3 that they end up being each other’s love interest. However, it was also established that they are not officially dating much to Rocki’s insistence. But Jackson is growing up in “Fuller House” season 4, which means he may be more determined in pursuing a relationship with Rocki.
“Jackson is really standing up for himself [in ‘Fuller House’ season 4]. Before he was just getting pushed around, he kind of did whatever but now he really has a solid, like 'This is what I want. This is what's going on.' He is not as much as a pushover,” Campion told Meaww.
This is an interesting plot line for Jackson as it seems to parallel the direction of D.J. and Steve’s (Scott Weinger) love story in “Fuller House” season 4. In the previous episodes, even these grown-ups were quite confused on what they really want resulting in a will they-won’t they sort of relationship.
However, Bure previously assured fans that D.J. and Steve will be together for real this time. “There's no back and forth in [‘Fuller House’ season 4], so she's with Steve and made that decision. I like watching and I hope the fans enjoy actually watching that relationship develop more,” Bure told E! News in July.
Campion also teased in the same interview that his friendship with Ramona Gibbler (Soni Nicole Bringas) will develop as Jackson matures in “Fuller House” season 4. The show returns on Friday, Dec. 4 on Netflix.
