July can’t come early enough for “Game of Thrones” fans, but there have been videos and photos that can help tide the absence over.
The latest of these is a photo courtesy of actor John Bradley West, who plays the Samwell Tarly on the HBO show. NME said West posted a photo of himself and co-star Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, on Instagram . The two appeared in their basic button-downs, with hair combed back and beards reminiscent of their characters in “Game of Thrones.”
But what had send fans’ tongues wagging was West’s caption that came with the photo, which read, “Briefly, but happily, back together again.”
The Telegraph echoed observant fans’ sentiment that the two characters will most likely not be on screen together for the whole of Season 7. Moreover, the caption also hinted that the two may have not filmed scenes together, backing up the theory. It is believed that while Jon Snow remains in the North in preparation for the White Walkers, Sam will continue his search for more information about the Seven Kingdoms’ most dangerous creatures at the vast Citadel library of Oldtown. It is also suggested that Sam’s diligence will bear fruit, and will have him discover the very information that will help his friend and the whole humanity against the deadly White Walkers.
This might be the case, as “Game of Thrones” author George RR Martin has previously identified to Sam’s character. It has been deduced that Martin has great plans for Sam, the "fat kid who likes to read" whose destiny is to help save the whole Seven Kingdoms.
"I would probably be Samwell Tarly. I love Sam, too. He's a great character. Tyrion might be who I want to be, but Sam is probably closer to who I actually am. The fat kid who likes to read books and doesn't like to go up a lot of stairs," Martin said back in 2014.
“Game of Thrones” will return on HBO for Season 7 on July 16.
