Blake Shelton is getting a little lonely on The Voice. Gwen Stefani’s last appearance as a coach on the hit singing competition was three seasons ago — and the country crooner wants her back at his side pronto.
According to Radar Online, it is not just Blake Shelton who wants his girlfriend to return to “The Voice” but Gwen Stefani herself wants to come back as one of the judges too. The latter left the competition show after season 12 and was replaced by Miley Cyrus.
“Blake absolutely wants Gwen back on the show,” a source told the magazine. “It just isn’t the same for him without her.”
The so-called source further added, “Gwen wants to come back, too. She gets along with everyone and is on set frequently anyways just to be there with him — it’s like a second home to her.”
It was said that Gwen Stefani also showed her interest to return to “The Voice” by frequently visiting the set with Blake Shelton. In addition, reports stated that the other reason why the “Hollaback Girl” singer just cannot stop going to set because she considers it as her second home.
Now, John Legend has been confirmed to join the show’s sixteenth season as a new coach. However, the producers have not released any notice yet if Gwen Stefani would be added in the panel as well.
In any case, the claim that Blake Shelton is desperate to have his girlfriend back on “The Voice” is contrary to what the Hollywood Life reported previously. In the report, it was mentioned that Miranda Lambert’s ex-husband is fine with doing the show without his current ladylove.
“With the success of the show with Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson, and the upcoming coach John Legend coming into the fold, Blake feels that if the show is super successful with the newer coaches, then he is totally fine with not seeing Gwen come back,” an insider told HL.
Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton got to know each other while working as judges on “The Voice” season 7. Later, when the two of them divorced their spouses, their friendship blossomed into romance and two are still together after three years of dating.
