“Halo Infinite” is expected to get a new game mode in the future with features and gameplay similar to battle royale titles. And it appears that 343 Industries is close to releasing the game mode called the “Last Spartan Standing.”
The Twitter page Delta_Hub, which follows news and leaks about “Halo Infinite,” recently found the description and the potential teaser image for Last Spartan Standing. The page says these details were spotted in-game in offline mode.
When 343 Industries announced last month that “Halo Infinite” Season 2 will be titled “Lone Wolves,” new game modes were confirmed to be part of the content update launching on May 3 and one of them will be Last Spartan Standing. The developer has yet to provide more details but it was described as a “free-for-all elimination mode” at the time.

It appears that the developer is being careful about directly calling Last Spartan Standing a battle royale mode. But the new description recently spotted in-game suggests it could feature gameplay mechanics similar to the popular video game genre. The “Halo Infinite” screenshots from Delta_Hub suggest Last Spartan Standing will be based on Big Team Battle (BTB), and part of the description reads, “Every Spartan for themselves!”

The game mode art also shows one victorious Spartan at the pedestal. The description and the image seem to be heavily implying that every player will have to fend for themselves once they enter Last Spartan Standing matches in “Halo Infinite.”
Meanwhile, 343 Industries released the “Halo Infinite” Season 1 report last week that also listed the content launching in Season 2. While Last Spartan Standing was not mentioned, the developer noted that the blog post “is by no means everything” they intend to release for the next season. So the battle royale-like game mode is still likely to arrive soon.
The latest indication of the Last Spartan Standing’s imminent arrival should be welcome news to “Halo Infinite” fans. The live-service game has been criticized lately for not having enough new content months after its launch. This has translated to the dwindling number of concurrent players on Steam and Twitch viewers for the last three months.
“We're certainly not happy to be unable to meet player and community expectations,” 343 Industries community director Brian Jarrard said on Reddit. “We understand the community is simply out of patience and frankly, I think understandably tired of words. We just need some time for the team to get the details sorted and then we can certainly share as much as we can.”
