The next launch event Huawei has confirmed will highlight the HarmonyOS, and it is happening on Tuesday, June 2. The company has also dropped some hints that other products will be announced this week.
Huawei HarmonyOS event schedule and where to watch
Tech fans worldwide will be able to watch Huawei’s next launch event on Tuesday through the company’s official YouTube channel. The presentation begins at 2 p.m. CEST / 8 a.m. EDT.
One of the confirmed products to be announced at the event is the HarmonyOS, which is Huawei’s alternative mobile operating system. It can be recalled that the company lost access to Google services, including the Android and Play Store, for its mobile products after facing US sanctions since 2019.
While this is not the first time Huawei has presented the HarmonyOS, but access to its beta version has been limited. One of the few comprehensive reviews of the mobile OS was reported by Ars Technica earlier this year. The article took note of the very stringent process that a reviewer needed to go through before gaining access to HarmonyOS.
In terms of UI and features, Huawei’s alternative mobile OS was said to be quite identical to Android 10. The June 2 launch should confirm whether this has changed and how Huawei plans on rolling out the software product.
Huawei might also announce the P50 series and MatePad Pro 2
When Huawei announced the June 2 event, the company clearly hinted at having other “new products” to launch. Until now, however, it is still unknown what they are going to be. But the rumor mill might give tech fans a few hints.

For one, the Huawei P50 has been leaked for a few months now, suggesting that it has been in the works for some time. Last week, well-known leaker UniverseIce also shared a banner image for the Huawei event that appears to be teasing a phone’s rear camera bump. The tipster speculates it could be referring to the P50 series.
