ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 28, 2017 -- Inspire, the leading healthcare social network, has expanded its reach with new partnerships with nonprofit patient advocacy organizations. Inspire heads into 2018 with a focus on growing its support for the rare disease patients and caregivers.
“There’s no company like ours with the depth and breadth of exclusive partnerships with leading national nonprofit organizations,” said Richard Tsai, VP Marketing of Inspire. “Our relationships with these partners are crucial to our success in making our online support groups so valuable to patients, caregivers, and advocates.”
Inspire’s new LupusConnect community, launched in partnership with the Lupus Foundation of America, brings together more than 5,000 individuals affected by lupus. Two other new recent cancer communities include Pancreatic Cancer Connections, in partnership with the Lustgarten Foundation to build a stronger network of support for pancreatic cancer patients and caregivers; and Melanoma > Exchange, in partnership with the Melanoma Research Alliance to help melanoma patients and caregivers find support and ask questions related to melanoma, melanoma treatment and relevant research.
Breastfeeding Support, launched recently in partnership with La Leche League International, provides mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education to breastfeeding mothers.
Two new rare disease communities include NEC Society Connects, launched in partnership with the NEC Society to foster awareness, patient-family empowerment, and resources for families affected by necrotizing enterocolitis and the Myocarditis Support Community, launched in partnership with the Myocarditis Foundation to connect myocarditis patients, caregivers, and friends for support and information.
In 2018, Inspire will focus on expanding its considerable network of rare disease communities through its RareXcel initiative, which is focused on accelerating support for people affected by a rare disease. Inspire is collaborating with Jean Campbell of JF Campbell Consultants LLC in an advisory capacity to help expand RareXcel. Campbell is a nationally recognized advocate for patients with rare diseases and is a leader in her rare disease work with non-profit advocacy organizations as well as biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
“There are so many unmet needs in the rare disease community,” said Campbell, “and Inspire can help support rare disease patient advocacy organizations, many of which could benefit from the resources they offer to partners.”
