‘Iron Fist’ Season 2 Air Dates, News & Update: Greatest Challenge Is the Cold; Installment Elevating Drama

While the first season of the show could have been better received, fans are hopeful with regards to “Iron Fist” Season 2. Based on the trailer that has been released, the story has gotten more grounded and personal, which is Netflix Marvel at its best. The rest of the show has apparently been elevated, as well, from the action to the drama.

“Iron Fist” Season 2 will put a lot of emphasis on Danny Rand (Finn Jones) finding a purpose and a place in New York. With the apparent death of Matt Murdoch (Charlie Cox) leaving Lower Manhattan without a protector, Danny has to step in. This is where the audience will find the character in when “Iron Fist” Season 2 starts, but it won’t be smooth sailing.

It would seem that Danny is pushing his hero antics a little too far, which is causing some tension between him and his girlfriend, Colleen (Jessica Henwick). This is a bigger issue than in the first season because “Iron Fist” Season 2 sees the pair moving in together. As Finn Jones says in an interview with TV Guide, balancing his character’s relationship with vigilante work is quite difficult.

The actor also spoke with Hidden Remote recently, alongside “Iron Fist” Season 2 showrunner Raven Metzner. The two answered a series of questions, wherein it was revealed that one of the biggest challenges to filming the show is shooting during winter.

“Just working through winter in New York was pretty tough. It gets really cold,” Finn Jones said. “I don’t know if you saw the scene set outside where I was beating up the armored car.”

“Iron Fist” Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 7 on Netflix. For those who haven’t seen season 1 yet, the show is available for streaming on the service right now.
