Jamie Dornan recently appeared on “The Graham Norton Show” alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Harry Connick Jr., and Rosamund Pike, and the “Fifty Shades of Grey” actor revealed many hilarious stories. These included the reason why he practically begged to be included in the “Trolls 2” voice cast.
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson starred in the “Fifty Shades” trilogy and they were often shown naked or in different states of undress while engaged in passionate scenes. The former said that since the movie series ended already, he has moved on from it and wants to try other roles. His move is surprising because after acting as Christian Grey in the erotic movie, he chose to be in an animation film for one his next projects.
As per Express, Jamie Dornan decided to try animation so that his kids can watch it. He narrated that his character as Christian Grey is not appropriate for his children so he wanted to star in a film the whole family can watch.
"I've played a lot of creepy characters so my kids can't watch anything I'd done so I basically begged Universal to give me a part,” the publication quoted the 36-year-old actor as saying. “I loved it and it was an amazing experience, but doing voice over made me very uncomfortable."
Jamie Dornan also said before that he will not be acting as Christian Grey anymore because he and Dakota Johnson may be too old for the roles when the time comes that author E.L. James decides to write a fourth book. Dakota also told The Times that she found some of the scenes in “Fifty Shades” films tedious so she might not do it again as well.
Aside from Jamie Dornan, Sam Rockwell, Chance the Rapper, Anthony Ramos, Karan Soni and Flula Borg were also added to the voice cast for “Trolls 2,” which is also known as “Trolls World Tour.”
Commenting on the addition of the new actors, Variety quoted Chris deFaria, president of DreamWorks Animation Film, as saying, “We are thrilled to have these talented artists join the cast of ‘Trolls 2.’”
“Trolls World Tour” is one of Jamie Dornan’s next projects while Dakota Johnson is set to star in two films next year, “The Peanut Butter Falcon” and “Untitled Babak Anvari Project.”
