Whenever celebrities issue public statements about breakups or getting a divorce, more often than not, they claim to remain friends despite the sad ending of their relationships. But is this the real case for Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux?
The two announced their split in February 2018 but they have also confirmed they actually broke up in late 2017. This means Aniston and Theroux have likely been separated for a year by now. And, conveniently, a report came out claiming that they are starting to communicate again.
A source of In Touch Weekly (via Celebrity Insider) said Theroux and Aniston have not been on speaking terms since the split. But that reportedly changed when the actor started missing the “Dumplin’” star and decided to reach out to her directly.
Within the past year, Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston have both made comments about the ending of their marriage in separate interviews. And in their joint statement, they made it clear: “We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”
However, it is also possible that they separated without bitterness in their hearts but still took some time before talking to one another again. Whether they have been communicating or not is something that is yet to be confirmed by Aniston and Theroux.
On the other hand, it is also important to note how they both have nothing bad to say about each other and their marriage even months after breaking up. In September 2018, Theroux admitted to the New York Times that his separation from Aniston was “heartbreaking” but only because their friendship would also have to adjust following the changes in their relationship. “But the friendship is shifting and changing, you know, so that part is something that we’re both very proud of,” Theroux further explained.
Meanwhile, without speaking directly about Justin Theroux, Jennifer Aniston implied to an interview with ELLE that she has no bad blood with her ex-husbands. And, more importantly, she reiterated she does not feel “a void” after the divorce and separation she experienced. She further called her previous marriages “very successful.” “When they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy,” she added.
