Jimmy Butler's career has been a meteoric rise to stardom ever since he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls back in 2011. But Butler's recent performance after declaring his desire to no longer renew his relationship with the Timberwolves in the 2019 off-season has been particularly troubling.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are not having a good season if their recent home-court loss to the Milwaukee Bucks last Oct. 26 is any indication. The Timberwolves lost the game at 125-95, with Jimmy Butler scoring only four points during his 24-minute stint on the court. Fans may now be wondering whether Butler's dip in performance could be due to some animosity between the All-Star player and the team he is willing to leave behind.

According to a report by ESPN, Jimmy Butler does not deny that his and the Timberwolves' performance against the Bucks was “a bad one and horrendous.” According to the report, the Timberwolves had to endure heckling from their own home court audience.

Other members of the Timberwolves – such as Karl-Anthony Towns – shared Jimmy Butler's sentiments by voicing out their acceptance of the loss. Still, despite the acceptance of defeat, Butler stands behind his public statement of simply looking forward to changing the flow of the game in future matches.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have already been approached by the Houston Rockets multiple times about trading Jimmy Butler from the Timberwolves. Despite their current roster's significantly low performance and the Rockets' four future first-round pick offer, it seems that the NBA team is still hesitant to let go of Jimmy Butler.

To make the potential Houston-Timberwolves trade deal more dramatic, the Minnesota Timberwolves have stated that Rockets guard Eric Gordon is a mandatory trade for them to accept Jimmy Butler's transfer. With fans believing that Jimmy Butler is bringing down the team in his current state due to his own desires, the Timberwolves will have to make a decision about the Rockets' offer soon.
