On September 4, the popular Nagoya-born cafe chain Komeda Coffee joined Japan's seasonal tsukimi, or “moon-viewing” festivities, by reintroducing its beloved Full Moon Burger. This year, the chain expanded its offerings with seven seasonal treats that will leave customers feeling over the moon.

Komeda Coffee's Full Moon and Teriyaki Burgers Shine with New Flavors, Sweet Potato Shiro-Noir Delights
Three items—the Full Moon Burger, Full Moon Teriyaki Burger, and Anno-imo Sweet Potato Shiro-Noir—were sampled, revealing exciting new flavors.
The classic Full Moon Burger featured its usual soft-boiled egg resembling the full moon, but this year’s version came with a newly developed sauce. The rich sauce, balanced tomato sourness, and onion sweetness elevated the burger’s taste to a more refined, almost hamburg steak-like flavor, making it the most delicious version yet.
The Full Moon Teriyaki Burger, new to the menu this year, offered the quintessential teriyaki taste, though it couldn’t entirely eclipse the original burger with its new sauce. Both, however, are satisfying options depending on the diner's cravings.
For dessert, the Anno-imo Sweet Potato Shiro-Noir did not disappoint. The dish featured soft serve drizzled with white chocolate sauce, black sesame seeds, and an extra helping of the chain’s specialty ogura-an. The luxurious sweet potato-flavored sauce, Danish pastry, and vanilla soft serve provided an intensely sweet experience. Fans of both Shiro-Noir and sweet potatoes will find this autumn creation a delightful indulgence.
With tsunami-themed offerings popping up across various chains in Japan, including McDonald’s and Mos Burger, Komeda Coffee’s 2024 lineup adds a unique and flavorful twist to the season's festivities.
