“Lost in Space” season 2 is confirmed to return after Netflix announced the series’ renewal in May last year. The announcement came just a month after the premiere season started to air.
What to Expect in New Installment?
The viewers will see a more action-filled sci-fi fantasy drama as the Robinsons family will face their biggest challenge yet in “Lost in Space” season 2. Those who watch the show already knows that the family went off-course and lost their way in space. They ended up in a destination that is new to them and in order to survive in the new place, they were forced to go into war against the robots.
Cast
“Lost in Space” season 2 will still have the cast of the Robinsons family that includes Molly Parker (Maureen ), Toby Stephens (John), Taylor Russell (Judy), Maxwell Jenkins (Will) and Mina Sundwall (Penny). Further, Express reported that “Lost in Space” season 2 will also feature some of the original cast from the 1960s’ series.
Showrunner, Matt Sazama, said that they want them back in the show but probably, some of them will get new roles if they are not fit to reprise their roles anymore. "I think the original cast is an asset,” Sazama said. “We don't know exactly how or why they'll fit into the show, but we'd love to include them in the way we included Bill Mumy."
He added, "We are not afraid of the history of the show. We embrace it and we want everyone – including old fans – to be fans of our show too."
Air Date
Netflix is predicted to drop “Lost in Space” season 2 in the second half of this year. The filming already wrapped up in January so we are just waiting for the post-production works to finish. With this date estimate, then fans should watch out for an announcement very soon.
