Apple's MacBook Air has not had a significant upgrade since it released the MacBook Air 7 in 2015 to the disappointment of MacBook Air users. While the MacBook Air 7 did get a recent update in mid-2017 with the Air 7.2, fans are wondering if Apple is ready to unleash their modern take on the MacBook Air 2018 at their upcoming event.
According to Apple Insider, Apple fans can definitely expect the unveiling of new Macs during the hardware event. The publication also emphasizes that a recent rumor about an entry-level Mac to be announced during the hardware event is highly probable. Unfortunately for those hoping that the rumored entry-level model will be the MacBook Air 2018, there is not enough information to make a solid conclusion that the new model is definitely 2018's take on the Air.
But fans looking forward to the MacBook Air 2018 should not despair as Apple's hardware event is rumored to unveil at least four new MacBooks. Even if the rumored entry-level model is not the MacBook Air 2018, there is a high chance that news about a modern take on the slim Mac is prepared for the upcoming event. The notebook – as The Verge points out – will hopefully come with higher resolutions, slimmer bezels, and an increase in specifications.
Apple Insider advises fans who may be looking to upgrade their Apple devices to wait for Apple's hardware event announcements first before heading out to make significant hardware purchases. In addition, the publication also advises fans of Apple to note that even if the rumor points to Apple aiming for at least four new Mac models – which hopefully include the new MacBook Air 2018 – there is a possibility that not all of them will be announced at the Apple Hardware event.
Since Apple has yet to confirm that they will be producing a new MacBook Air 2018, fans will just have to wait and see what announcements the tech giant will reveal during its Oct. 30 hardware event. Hopefully, any MacBook Air loyalist will be vindicated when Apple makes the MacBook Air 2018 official.
