“Manifest” Episode 6 isn’t coming out for another two weeks as NBC scheduled its air date for Nov. 5. It’s expected that not much is going to be provided in terms of information regarding the overarching plotline of the mystery series, although some clues may be hinted here and there, CarterMatt reported.
In “Manifest” Episode 6, Cal (Jack Messina) is going to be put in a life-threatening situation when he awakes with a dangerously high fever. While Grace (Athena Karkanis) assumes that it has to do with the experimental cancer treatment Cal is receiving, Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) and Ben (Josh Dallas) are on a different page.
The two believe that Cal’s condition may have something to do with a mysterious passenger from Flight 828 who will be missing in “Manifest” Episode 6. As the fever worsens, Ben and Michaela will try to find this individual, racing against time as Cal fights for his life.
As for the overall season so far, the show has received mixed reviews from both fans and critics since its premise is selling to audiences something that is improbable while trying to keep everything grounded. Many have pointed out that the mystery series has been largely influenced by “Lost” given how the season is currently shaping up. But there’s also a flavor of interconnectivity to it that highlights the unexplainable and unexpected events of life. Both these themes are hinted at in “Manifest” Episode 6, with Cal’s connection to the pivotal event and the mysterious passenger the main link to the overall premise.
It’s the combination of these themes that resulted in the mixed reviews of critics and casual viewers. It seems that the main gripe of those who aren’t buying the plot is that the show can’t decide what story it’s telling. On the one hand, there’s the mystery of the plane’s disappearance. On the other, there's an exploration of the lives of those who are affected. Of course, it’s still too early to bring down the hammer on the series. This is why “Manifest” Episode 6 should offer more info about the mystery rather than focus on melodramatic events when it airs on Nov. 5.
