Melania Trump has been caught yet again in the controversy involving Donald Trump and American pornographic actress Stephanie Clifford (known professionally as Stormy Daniels). Michael Cohen – Donald Trump’s lawyer from 2006 to 2018 – was the one responsible for the story’s rekindling.
Cohen is currently testifying before the House Oversight Committee about multiple lies and irregularities that Donald Trump committed. During his testimony, the lawyer apologized to Melania Trump regarding the lies he told her about the POTUS’ secret affair with Daniels, Daily Mail reported.
Cohen expressed his deepest regret during his opening statement this Wednesday, saying that Melania Trump didn’t deserve the lies that he’d told her. “[Donald Trump] asked me to pay off an adult film star with whom he had an affair and to lie to his wife about it, which I did. Lying to the first lady is one of my biggest regrets. She is a kind, good person,” Cohen said.
The lawyer is also remorseful about calling Melania Trump to mislead her about the alleged unfaithfulness of her husband. Daniels previously said that he had met Donald Trump at a golf tournament in 2006 where they engaged in sexual acts. The porn star claims that the affair started from there.
Apart from Daniels, Karen McDougal – a playboy model – is also another woman that Donald Trump has been involved with. Both were allegedly paid $130,000 by Cohen in an attempt to convince them to keep quiet about the matter. Melania Trump has yet to comment about this revelation.
The FLOTUS has been on a roller coaster ride after Donald Trump became president a couple of years ago. Since then, Melania Trump has been scrutinized by the media and the public on multiple occasions. From her visiting U.S. troops to wearing a Plith helmet during her visit to Kenya, the first lady has been the subject of criticism and mockery for a while. CNN even published an op-ed article where the publication said that the former fashion model doesn’t “understand what it means to be the first lady.”
