“Narcos” season 4 has been rebranded as “Narcos: Mexico” since the setting is moving from Colombia to Mexico. The previous season concluded last year but the long wait just made fans even more excited for the crime drama’s premiere.
As per Media Play News, the anticipation for “Narcos: Mexico” is a lot higher than the previous seasons. In fact, in its latest Parrot Analytics’ survey, the demand for the fourth installment in the U.S. has increased as the show’s pilot nears.
“Narcos” season 4 is inspired by true events and will feature the stories of drug kingpins who reigned in the world of drug cartels in the '80s. Of course, since the focus of the plot is illegal drug trading and how it all began, there will be lots of action in the drama as law enforcement wages war against drugs and their distributors around the world.
Likewise, the new season of “Narcos” will be about the origins of the modern drug trade. The show is going back to the time when criminals started to produce illegal substances and built an empire out of the unlawful deed.
"The origins of the Guadalajara cartel are in the late 1970s and early 1980s, so Narcos is going back in time," the show’s EP, Eric Newman, told The Hollywood Reporter.
Now, to heighten the excitement, Netflix released a new “Narcos” season 4 trailer and as expected, it is filled with suspense, confrontations, violence and glamor in a sense that the drug kingpins lived in luxury using the money they earned from their criminal operations. The preview was dropped last week and the series gained a favorable response from fans.
“Narcos” season 4 will feature a new set of cast members led by the lead stars Michael Peña (Kiki Camarena) and Diego Luna (Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo). They will be supported by Alyssa Diaz (Mika Camarena), (Benjamin Arellano Felix), Clark Freeman (Ed Heath), Alfonso Dosal Ernesto Alterio (Salvador Osuna Nava), Gerardo Taracena (Pablo Acosta) and Fernanda Urrejola (Maria Elvira).
“Narcos” season 4 is set to premiere on Nov. 16 via Netflix. Check out the preview below:
