The Scabbards are out for blood and the combination of their unique fighting styles are enough to wound Kaido in “One Piece” chapter 992. However, knowing how strong the Yonko is, the samurai’s momentum might only be building up to the reveal of Kaido’s hybrid form.
‘One Piece’ chapter 992 spoilers: Why Kaido may not be facing real danger
Full leaks and spoilers for “One Piece” chapter 992 can now be found online, just hours before the official release. Most of its pages are focused on the exchange of blows between Kaido and the Scabbards. It can be recalled that Kaido, in his dragon form, decided to attack them head-on after seeing Jack pummeled by Nekomamushi and Inuarashi.
Many fans would agree that Kaido is very likely to dominate this battle, but so far the Scabbards have the advantage. In “One Piece” chapter 992, the rest of the group demonstrate their unique fighting style with a mini flashback showing they never wanted to inherit Kaido’s fighting styles because they wanted to develop what they have.
Fast forward to the present, it appears to be paying off. Kaido attacks them with a technique that turns his breathe into thunder, but the Scabbards are able to counter them in “One Piece” chapter 992. Nekomamushi, Kawamatsu, Inuarashi, Kiku, Izo, and Raizo each attack Kaido with their own techniques and they manage to make his dragon form bleed.
The final page of “One Piece” chapter 992 shows Kinemon, Ashura, Inuarashi, and Denjiro attacking with their swords aiming for Kaido’s very first wound that Oden gave him. In this panel, fans will find Kaido’s eyes turning white but it unlikely means he is dying because this is Kaido being discussed here. Aside from his sheer size and strength, he possesses Mythical Zoan power that the series has yet to fully reveal.
While “One Piece” chapter 992 does the job of establishing the top-tier fighting abilities of the Scabbards, it is very unlikely that they have what it takes to ultimately defeat Kaido. It is then possible that these battle scenes are just building up the hype for Kaido’s hybrid form reveal. It is also worth noting that a single panel in chapter 992 shows Luffy running toward Kaido as if reminding fans that these two aspiring Pirate Kings are bound to have the most important fight in Wano Kuni arc.
‘One Piece’ chapter 992 release date, where to read: Is there a break next week?
“One Piece” chapter 992 is finally getting released on Friday, Oct. 16 after being delayed for two weeks. Fans who have translated the leaks also report there will not be a break after this, so that is another reason to celebrate. The official translation will be available for free on Manga Plus and VIZ Shonen Jump websites.
