‘One Piece’ manga: Eiichiro Oda reportedly revealed when he will end the series and it is sooner than what fans think

“One Piece” has been around for more than 20 years and recently it was revealed that it is finally coming to an end. This news emerged after the manga series creator Eiichiro Oda reportedly shared until when he will be writing Monkey D. Luffy’s story.

Oda’s plans to conclude the world’s favorite manga

As per Screen Rant, Eiichiro Oda has a firm timeline for the finale of the “One Piece” manga series. He is said to have confirmed when it will be ending after he told fans that there is not much story left for it to continue.

It was reported that through an ad for the 35th issue of “One Piece,” Oda mentioned that the story is already heading to the final saga. Fans are now given a clear time-frame of when they can expect the series to conclude.

Originally, it is widely known among fans of Oda and his masterpiece that he initially intended for “One Piece” to wrap up in five years from its launch. However, it got so popular that it has already reached exactly 23 years in the running.

Apparently, the animated version of “One Piece” will still go on for a while even after the manga wraps up. Thus, fans can still relive all the stories in the series and it may be on the broadcast for a really long time as there are lots of materials left for the animation to continue.

At any rate, the end of the manga can also be due to Eiichiro Oda’s health because recently, the more chapters are being delayed and it was due to the creator’s health issues. On top of this, there is also the COVID-19 pandemic.

In fact, it was reported that the latest story of “One Piece” which is chapter 989 has been delayed again. This is not the first time in weeks that the manga’s release date has been moved because it is happening more often now.

“Yes, One Piece 989 got delayed due to amid outbreak of COVID 19 Novel Coronavirus pandemic all over the world due to the protection of its manga staff,” the statement reads. “The New Official Release Date for Chapter is September 6, 2020, officially.”
