'Orphan Black' Season 4, Episode 9 Spoilers: "The Mitigation of Competition" - Clones Unite to Defeat Evie Cho, Cosima Struggles to Find Cure with Susan

Tatiana Maslany stars in BBC America's 'Orphan Black'

‘Orphan Black’ season 4’s episode 9, entitled “The Mitigation of Competition", will find the clones Sarah and Rachel uniting to defeat a common enemy despite their differences. Meanwhile, Cosima continues her struggle to find a cure for Leda and Castor clones together with Susan.

The synopsis posted on Comic Book Movie stated, “With Susan Duncan deposed, Sarah finds herself in the same position as Rachel — under the heel of a new HBIC — causing the archenemies to come together for the greater good. Cosima and Susan butt heads on the ethical implications of human experiments. Meanwhile, when the Hendrixes' legal counsel, Adele, further investigates Donnie’s case, she begins to suspect Felix is keeping deep secrets. Helena’s arrival forces Felix to make a difficult decision.”

The incoming episode will find a reluctant alliance between Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) and Rachel as they work together to take down mutual enemy Evie Cho (Jessalyn Wanlim) and Neolution. Cosima and Susan Duncan (Rosemary Dunsmore) are also struggling to find a cure for the Leda and Castor Clones, following the untimely death of Kendall Malone (Alison Steadman). However, things are not going as easily as planned since the two are constantly arguing about their polarizing perspectives on the ethical implications of the experimentations.

Meanwhile, series co-creator John Fawcett admitted during a previous interview with E! that they are working on finally ending the critically-acclaimed series. According to Ecumenical News, Fawcett revealed that they have already taken season 5’s final storyline into consideration. He said, "The series is mapped to a large degree, in that there is always room to move and work organically, but we are working towards a five season story… We will arrive at some kind of end destination by the end of season five."

Fawcett admitted that although they had no plans in stretching out the series for a sixth season, they may find if necessary to “reinvent” the show should fans continue to demand more of it. He said, “I don't know what that is or could be. I'm not really thinking about that right now, I'm just thinking about trying to get this story told in five seasons."

‘Orphan Black’ episode 9 is scheduled to air on BBC America on June 9, 2016.
