It’s clear from the events in “Outlander” Season 4 that life has no plans to go easy on Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan). Fortunately for fans, they won’t have to wait that long to find out what is next for the fated couple. Lead actress Caitriona Balfe recently confirmed that “Outlander” Season 5 will begin filming in a few days, thus making a late 2019 premiere possible.
As CarterMatt reports, it would appear that “Outlander” Season 5 premiering this year might just be possible if what a recent confirmation by Caitriona Balfe is true. Production has effectively already begun, but it would seem that filming in Glasgow will start next week. This is a reassuring development following reports of delays that have been going around.
In any case, it has now been brought up that a 2019 airing of “Outlander” Season 5 could happen if everything goes smoothly. Nothing is guaranteed and production usually goes well beyond filming actors in their scenes. Fortunately, the show is quite good at keeping fans informed of developments with regards to upcoming seasons, so more details should be shared soon.
As for what fans can expect from the characters of the series in “Outlander” Season 5, Sophie Skelton (Brianna) has some bad news. It would seem that their lives will be far from the rosy situation suggested by the finale of last season. Much of the trouble will involve the baby and Roger’s (Richard Rankin) failure to say anything about the death notice for Jamie that led to a fight. The actress said as much in a recent interview.
“They haven’t really sat down and had any conversations yet,” Skelton said. “They left on a big fight, and they haven’t even talked that out, and now they’ve got a baby to think of, too… They could put everything that happened aside, or it could complicate things and make things harder,” Sophie Skelton said.
