High-end smartphones from world-renowned brands are the usual topics discussed in the rumor mill. However, the mid-range brand Pocophone has found its place as tech fans are still looking forward to seeing the line’s second device, dubbed as Pocophone F2, get released.
Xiaomi, the company that owns the brand, is still mum about whether or not Pocophone F2 is in the pipeline. But the company’s silence has not stopped rumors from circulating that the unannounced device will likely sport Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon CPU.
Pocophone F2 rumored specs: Smartphone expected to sport Snapdragon’s latest premium mobile chip
For the most part, the first Pocophone’s technical specs live by the device’s categorization as a mid-range smartphone. However, what sets it apart from other budget smartphone is that it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. The said chip was Qualcomm’s most powerful Snapdragon offering at the time and was found on most premium smartphones in 2018.
If Xiaomi announced the Pocophone F2, it is speculated that the company will do the same for the new device. That could mean that the smartphone would be powered by either Snapdragon 855 or the Snapdragon 855+. Both mobile processors are octa-core chips, but the newer chip clocks up to 2.96GHz, a slight improvement from its predecessor’s 2.84GHz base frequency.
However, it should be noted that Xiaomi or bosses of the Poco brand have yet to even recognize the existence of Pocophone F2. So all speculations and claims about its specs should be taken with a pinch of salt at the moment.
Pocophone F2 release date: Why the device has been delayed
A quick search of “Pocophone F2” on online platforms like Twitter will show that the device is still widely anticipated by consumers in India and other regions. Poco India general manager Manmohan Chandolu has even recognized the never-ending questions about the smartphone no matter what he announces online.

Many fans were expecting Pocophone F2 to be announced this year. But its delay became more imminent when the former Poco brand chief, Jai Mani, was confirmed to have parted ways with Xiaomi. It is safe to assume that a major change in the organization might have affected its timeline for launching a new device.
