“Project Runway” season 17 will come back on air without its original hosts Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn. The two were confirmed to leave the show last week and they are bidding everyone goodbye after 14 years of hosting.
It was learned that Heidi and Tim are launching a new show in partnership with Amazon. They will be hosting a unique fashion series and they are excited about this new project.
Talking about her exit on “Project Runway” season 17, Heidi Klum was quoted by People as saying, “After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to Project Runway, a show that I was honored to host and help create.”
The 45-year-old supermodel added that she is very proud of the show and it will always have a special place in her heart. She also thanked the fans who have been following and supporting the show for a long time now and shared that she is also happy because “Project Runway” helped launch so many designers’ careers.
Tim Gunn shared her sentiments and said that he is grateful to the series because it placed him on a career path that he never imagined he would take. “I am so proud to have been a part of the groundbreaking process that showcased talented young designers as never before,” he said.
The 65-year-old fashion consultant and host also mentioned his new work and said that he is excited for people to see what he and Heidi will show next as they embark on their next fashion adventure.
With the duo’s departure from “Project Runway” season 17, Christian Siriano, former contender and winner in the fourth season of the fashion reality series, has something to say about it. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter at Harper’s Bazaar event Icons at the New York Fashion Week, he relayed that although the fans will surely miss them, maybe it is time for a change since they have been on the show for 14 long years already.
When asked about who he thinks should replace them, the “Project Runway” did not mention a name but said that finding the right people would be very hard.
Meanwhile, shortly after Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn confirmed their departure from “Project Runway” season 17, Zac Posen relayed that he will also be leaving the show, as per TV Line. “Project Runway” season 17 will premiere in 2019 on Bravo TV.
