Sam Heughan might be hosting an episode of “Saturday Night Live” in the future as Starz seems to be asking the show to take him as a guest. The home network of the “Outlander” series also suggested Caitriona Balfe as one of the most fitting guests on the show.
It all started on Aug. 27, when “SNL” posted a tweet that asked its followers to drop names as to who should be the show’s next host. On Twitter, the show asked, “Who should host SNL?”
While fans started to give names, an eye-catching reply also came. It was hard to ignore because it came from Starz. What’s more, it dropped the names of two of its most precious actors who are currently starring in the equally popular historical drama, “Outlander.”
The network replied, “We can think of a few good candidates. @caitrionambalfe @SamHeughan” Of course the #Outlander hashtag was added too.
We can think of a few good candidates. ???? @caitrionambalfe @SamHeughan #Outlander https://t.co/RYiHvSgSss

The response was almost predictable as fans of “Outlander” as well as Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe flocked to the thread and seconded Starz’s nomination. The reply has had over 4,000 likes so far and has been retweeted more than 600 times already, indicating that they want the pair, or at least one of them, to be on “Saturday Night Live.”
Now, fans should wait and see if the producers of "SNL" will take the suggestion seriously. Sam Heughan is known to be a funny guy and Caitriona also attested to this fact. In fact, the actor recently appeared in the comedy flick “The Spy Who Dumped Me,” which stars him alongside Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon.
Meanwhile, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are set to return in “Outlander” season 4. As per EconoTimes, the show is set to premiere in November and it will offer a total of 13 episodes.
