With “Outlander” season 4's premiere episode air date less than three months away, the anticipation over seeing Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe on-screen is something that some fans have had a hard time dealing with. Thankfully, Heughan and Balfe's different projects can provide relief for fans in such a dillema.
Fans of the period drama who cannot wait for “Outlander” season 4 to come back on air can satisfy their droughtlander needs with a sneak peek photo. TVInsider recently released a photo of Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe sharing an “Outlander” season 4 moment together. The photo itself does not contain many spoilers for any hardcore fan of the “Outlander” series.
If the sneak peek photo is not enough, fans may have a chance to watch a live-action performance from the on-screen couple before “Outlander” season 4 airs. Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe recently auditioned for Graham MacTavish's “This Guest of Summer.” Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan's audition tapes can be viewed by pledging to the movie's fundraiser.
Fans can pledge $5 for Caitriona Balfe's audition tapes and $8 for Sam Heughan's audition tapes. To date, 283 backers have claimed Caitriona Balfe's audition tapes while 330 have availed of Sam Heughan's tapes.
Graham MacTavish, who has also appeared in “Outlander” as Dougal Mackenzie, will be making his directorial debut in the comedy horror film. MacTavish will also star in a leading role in the movie alongside “Outlander” veterans Duncan LaCroix and Stephen Walters, and “The Hobbit” co-actors Dean O'Gorman and Adam Brown.
While both Balfe and Hueghan have been confirmed to have auditioned for the crowd-funded movie, there has yet to be a confirmation of what roles Balfe and Heughan will be playing. Fans who prefer to watch Heughan and Balfe as beloved television couple Jamie and Claire Fraser will have to wait for Nov. 4 when “Outlander” season 4 returns with its regular broadcast.
