Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have just completed their stint for the “Outlanders” season 4 as the series concluded on Jan. 27. Now, as the pair gets ready to move to the next chapter of Jamie and Claire’s Fraser’s live via the next installment, the actress revealed her thoughts about this season’s finale.
In her interview with Marie Claire, Caitriona Balfe revealed what her favorite scenes in “Outlander” season 4 are and also shared some details about what’s next with Claire Fraser. When asked how she will describe her character in the fourth installment, Sam Heughan’s co-star said that it was a very different season for Claire.
She (Claire) is no longer the front and center,” Caitriona said. “The story has opened up so much to include Brianna, Roger, and the rest of the extended family. For Claire, it was definitely a season where she was able to sort of relax a little bit more because in many ways, she and Jamie, they've found each other now.”
Caitriona Balfe further said that Jamie and Claire’s relationship got stronger in “Outlander” season 4 and although they still encountered lots of hardships and misfortunes, their love has deepened that is why they, especially Claire, is more relaxed in this installment. Now, although the series has ended already, fans should be excited as “Outlander” season 5 has been confirmed to be coming up next!
Caitriona Balfe disclosed that while she and Sam Heughan are definitely doing the fifth season, filming for it has not started yet.
“I think it's not too far away,” she said. “I'm not sure of the exact date, but it's pretty soon.”
