“Santa Clarita Diet” Season 3 will be returning on March 29 and fans can’t wait to be reunited with Sheila (Drew Barrymore), Joel (Timothy Olyphant), and the rest of the series’ odd characters. Right now, the story has progressed into how Sheila ended up being a flesh-eating undead.
As it turns out, the cause of Sheila’s transformation was a particular strain of clam that originated in a Serbian cave. “Santa Clarita Diet” Season 3 will be exploring the composition of these mollusks as well as the pair that have been destroying them, Digital Spy reported.
Showrunner Victor Fresco said that Paul (Zachary Knighton) and Marsha (Jee Young Han) will play an integral role in “Santa Clarita Diet” Season 3. “They're a threat to the Hammonds. They don't know who the Hammonds are yet and the Hammonds don't know that they're out there, but we know that these guys are gonna want to kill them — or at least kill Sheila.”
There certainly is a lot of avenues that the writers can take with regards to the series’ storyline given that all the events that have transpired in the first and second installment happened in just two weeks. “Santa Clarita Diet” Season 3 will be picking up from the events that took place in the second entry’s finale.
It can be recalled that police deputy Anne (Natalie Morales) was trying to apprehend Sheila and Joel for the murder of a Neo-nazi. Her arrest was interrupted by the severed head of Gary (Nathan Fillion) and the explosion caused by the Hammond children. And amidst all these complications, “Santa Clarita Diet” Season 3 will also be dealing with a wedding. Or at least, an engagement.
The trailer for “Santa Clarita Diet” Season 3 saw that Sheila has now proposed to Joel at a restaurant, saying that they’ll be sharing their romance for the next thousand years to come. Between the clams, officer Anne, an engagement, and a looming threat hanging over the heads of the Hammonds, the next installment is looking like another interesting and hilarious entry for the horror-comedy.
