The details with regards to the “Star Citizen” 3.5 update have just been released and it would seem that a lot of fans are not happy with what they are being promised. Among the major features of the new update is the matter of the new city planet called ArcCorp being added. There will supposedly be a new female player character that can be customized via Gene Splicing. This is what fans are calling Cloud Imperium Games founder Chris Roberts out on.
As Polygon reports, the “Star Citizen” 3.5 update will be giving fans quite a few new things to take into consideration to distract them from the fact that the game is not yet finished. Among these is the addition of a new planet that is ostensibly being referred to as an urban jungle. The jargon is only fitting, though, since there will be nothing but manmade structures trying to tower over each other.
It isn’t yet clear how much players will be able to do on this new planet, but one can assume that it is currently limited. As for the so-called Gene Splicing technology that Roberts proclaims with regards to character customization, a huge deal is being made regarding its so-called revolutionary nature. This is what fans are having issues with along with other promises made for the “Star Citizen” 3.5 update.
Basically, many gamers are contending that the technology that will be used for character customization in the “Star Citizen” 3.5 update is far from being revolutionary. In fact, it has been used by other developers for their games, including Rockstar for “Grand Theft Auto V.” This didn’t stop Roberts from proclaiming it as something new, though.
“The advantage of this approach is you always get realistic looking players, not immersion breaking ‘monsters’ that sometimes can be created using more traditional techniques,” he recently said.
