“Stranger Things” season 4 is definitely coming after its renewal was announced at the end of September. The series made the announcement through a video clip showing the series’ title with the no. 4 in the background.
Though very short, the trailer stirred up curiosity and excitement among the fans as it also revealed that “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.” Although it is not clear what it exactly means, fans started predicting and posted their theories as to what could happen in “Stranger Things” season 4. Then again, along with the predictions, there are also confirmed facts, and they are all quite interesting.
Time travel and new characters
The previous season ended with Hawkins unable to get out, and Joyce had to close the passage to the real world and Upside Down. In the end, the machine exploded after sealing the door, and Hopper is gone. While they succeeded, it was heartbreaking, especially for Eleven, to know that Hopper did not make it.
However, there is a theory that suggests he may turn up alive in “Stranger Things” season 4, and it will be done through time travel. Digital Spy reported that this is one way that they could bring back Hopper and it is plausible because the series already did this “going back to the 80s,” a lot of times in the previous seasons.
This theory cropped up after the writers posted a date and place that is apparently set in the past. If there is indeed time travel, something big happened in Nov. 6, 1983 in Hawkins, Indiana, and they are going back to this period, perhaps, to get Hopper?
It was said that the creators of “Stranger Things” season 4 are looking for new actors to cast in their show. TV Line reported that the Duffer Brothers are on the hunt for four male casts, and it will consist of three teenagers and one adult. It was not mentioned what their roles would be yet, but surely, there will be new faces in the upcoming season.
Death in season 4
“Stranger Things” season 4 may also be gloomy as it was said that a major character might die. This rumor started when a fan asked the writers to describe the fourth season, and they replied using emojis. Via Twitter, they posted a clown, cowboy, infuriated, and skull emoticons, which fans interpreted as the new installment being funny, frustrating, and there could be death.
“Stranger Things” season 4 will premiere with “The Hellfire Club” episode, and it will arrive between December 2020 and January 2021 as the filming will only begin this coming January.
