Studio Meta-K Inc. has joined forces with Vietnam-based visual special effects company Synapse Studio to work together on producing GenAI-based digital content. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
According to The Korea Economic Daily, another South Korean start-up, Oneness Korea, will cooperate with Studio Meta-K and Synapse Studio to produce virtual humans and generative AI-based content.
Vietnamese Special Effects Firm
Synapse Studio is already a known name in the VFX industry in Vietnam. It is leading the game in this line of business; thus, it is gaining lots of global partnership deals. The company has many technologies related to film, animation, OTT, and new media content production.
Moreover, Studio Meta-K said that Synapse Studio has shared its technologies and expertise for special effects in more than 60 South Korean blockbuster films such as "The Glory 2," "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area," "Black Knight," "Moving," and "Noryang – Deadly Sea."
Digital Content Production Using Artificial Intelligence
Studio Meta-K rolled out its digital content business based on virtual humans and generative artificial intelligence (AI) with Synapse Studio and Oneness Korea. Yonhap News Agency reported that they opened their studio at the Dreamplex Building in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
It was stated in the agreement that Studio Meta-K, Synapse Studio, and Oneness Korea will work together to help each of their businesses advance in their respective fields, including digital content production based on generative AI technology and movie and drama production.
"The agreement between Korean and Vietnamese companies with advanced content production capabilities provides an opportunity for Korea's excellent digital content, including dramas, movies, and virtual human content, to advance into overseas markets," Studio Meta-K's chief executive officer, Kim Gwang Jip, said in a statement.
