AIX-EN-PROVENCE, France, March 09, 2018 -- SuperSonic Imagine (Euronext:SSI) (FR0010526814), a company specializing in ultrasound medical imaging, today announced that it will showcase its premium ultrasound platform at the National Consortium of Breast Centers’ 28th Annual Interdisciplinary Breast Center Conference (NCoBC 2018), March 9-14 in Las Vegas. The Aixplorer Ultimate is the only UltraFast™ ultrasound system, featuring enhanced performance, workflow and efficiency, as well as a combination of impeccable image quality and unprecedented ultrasound advances.
“We designed Aixplorer Ultimate with breast specialists in mind, with enhanced features for ease of use and accurate identification of issues associated with breast health. The exclusive TriVu real-time simultaneous mode, for example, combines anatomical and functional imaging for breast evaluation in one test,” said Michèle Lesieur, CEO of SuperSonic Imagine. “We look forward to sharing the newly enhanced features of the Aixplorer Ultimate with clinicians at NCoBC 2018.”
The NEW Aixplorer’ Ultimate demonstrates advancements in several respects. The Ultimate’s elegant new look and enhanced user interface make it simple to use, particularly after prolonged periods, and less likely to cause eye strain and muscle fatigue. The system’s computation power is more than 4.5 times faster and 20% more energy efficient than its predecessor. Aixplorer Ultimate also now includes a barcode scanner for inputting patient information, reducing manual errors and saving time. With greater efficiency and smoother workflow, physicians can spend their time caring for patients.
Attendees are invited to visit SuperSonic Imagine at Booth #104 at the Paris Las Vegas. Live demonstrations at the exhibition will include all of Aixplorer Ultimate’s exclusive modes, such as TriVu; Doppler UltraFast™, which combines Pulsed Doppler and Color Doppler in a single pass; ShearWave™ Elastography (SWE™), which is used to view and measure the stiffness of tissues in real time using color mapping; and Angio PL.U.S., which offers unrivaled resolution for imaging microvascularisation in lesions. This combined visualization is designed to leverage the simultaneous real-time benefits of multiple modalities for exams in complex cases, as well as for interventional imaging for biopsy guidance or therapy.
About SuperSonic Imagine
Founded in 2005 and based in Aix-en-Provence (France), Supersonic Imagine is a company that specialises in medical imaging. The company designs, develops and markets a revolutionary ultrasound platform, Aixplorer®, which uses the UltraFast™ technology that can acquire images around 200 times faster than conventional ultrasound systems. In addition to providing exceptional image quality, this unique technology is the foundation of several innovations which have changed the paradigm of ultrasound imaging: ShearWave™ Elastography (SWE™), UltraFast™ Doppler technology, Angio PL.U.S – Planewave UltraSensitive™ Imaging and, more recently, TriVu. ShearWave Elastography allows physicians to visualise and analyse the stiffness of tissue in real-time using a reliable, reproducible and non-invasive procedure. This is an important parameter in diagnosing potentially malignant lesions or other diseased tissue. As of today, over 300 publications have demonstrated the value of SWE in the care of patients with a wide range of diseases. The UltraFast Doppler combines colour flow imaging and pulsed wave Doppler into one simple test, providing physicians with the results of both simultaneously, therefore enhancing the efficiency. The latest innovation, Angio PL.U.S, provides a higher level of microvascular imaging through significantly improved colour sensitivity and spatial resolution, while maintaining exceptional 2D image quality. SuperSonic Imagine has been granted regulatory clearances for the commercialisation of Aixplorer® on the main markets. Since April 2014, the SuperSonic Imagine company has been listed on Euronext (symbol: SSI).
