‘The Conners’ Episode 4 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Geena Takes the Family to Mass in ‘The Separation of Church and Dan’

Looks like the family is heading to church in “The Conners” Episode 4. According to the official synopsis of the episode, Geena (Maya Lynne Robinson) is going to find out that that D.J. (Michael Fishman) hasn’t been taking their daughter, Mary (Jayden Rey), to church during the time she served in Afghanistan, and now she wants the three of them to attend mass together to uphold her traditional values.

Well, Geena can easily twist D.J. arm to coerce him to go, but her daughter is another matter. Apparently, Mary doesn’t want to go to church without her cousins Harris (Emma Kenney) and Mark (Ames McNamara). That means D.J. will have to convince Darlene (Sara Gilbert) to come with them. That doesn’t sound like something he wants to do.

Titled "The Separation of Church and Dan," “The Conners” Episode 4 will also feature Mark attempting to conduct an unbiased survey on the upcoming election for a school project, but things are about to go horribly wrong when Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) volunteers to help him.

As pointed out by CarterMatt and several other publications, "The Separation of Church and Dan" was supposed to be the second episode of the season, but for some reason, it was pushed back until after the midterm elections. “It may just be because they didn’t want for this story to be an influencing factor to anyone before the elections. Or, it’s just possible that it needed to be filmed early for production reasons. Either way, it’s still some fascinating trivia,” the team at CarterMatt noted.

“The Conners” Episode 4 is scheduled to air on Nov. 13. Aside from the main cast, the episode will also guest star veteran actor MC Gainey as Group Leader, Paul Wilson as Paulie, Cassandra Relynn as Deaconess, Stephen Monroe Taylor as Dwight, James Pickens Jr. as Chuck, and Tahmus Rounds as Bob.
