“The Expanse” season 4 may have been canceled by Syfy just after three seasons but this does not mean that it is gone forever. In fact, fans of the drama will see it back on screen soon after Amazon Prime Video picked it up and added to their programming lineup.
“The show has come back strong,” Amazon’s co-chief of TV programming, Vernon Sanders, said during the network’s executive session at TCA Winter Press Tour. “The fans’ love has helped us build this; we can’t wait for them to see it.”
The drama’s third season was already released on the said streaming site on Feb. 8 so “The Expanse” season 4 will make its way there soon as well. As per Deadline, season 3 is now available to subscribers of Amazon Prime in 200 countries and regions.
Screen Rant reported that Amazon Prime already scheduled “The Expanse” season 4 for release in the fourth quarter of 2019. The publication stated that this was confirmed by Amazon Studio’s chief during the mentioned press tour.
Likewise, although “The Expanse” season 4’s filming already wrapped up last month, it will still be months before the sci-fi drama airs. It is highly likely that it will have a December premiere.
The chief also revealed that all the original cast of the show have been signed up to appear in “The Expanse” season 4 so fans will surely enjoy watching it again despite the move to a new home. This means that Steven Strait, Frankie Adams, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham and Thomas Jane are set to return to reprise their roles.
Finally, “The Expanse” season 4 will feature new cast members as well and they are Keon Alexander (Belter leader), Rosa Gilmore (Lucia Mazur) and Jess Salgueiro (security officer).
