It has only been less than a year since the latest installment of “The Seven Deadly Sins” anime series has concluded. But there are already speculations that “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 4 might not be available on Netflix until 2020.
The makers of the anime series have yet to confirm the release of “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 4. However, it is safe to say that it is going to happen considering its worldwide popularity that even Netflix has picked up the series for an exclusive English release since the first season.
There are other rumors that “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 4 could be out within this year. If ever the anime series does continue sometime in 2019, it might take another full year of waiting before it becomes available on Netflix.
Even though the streaming platform has acquired rights to distribute the series for fans outside Japan, historically, the show premieres on Netflix months after the finale is officially released. For example, the latest episode came out in Japan last June 30. But the entire third season did not arrive on Netflix until October 2018.
So Netflix subscribers who have loved following the story of Meliodas through the streaming platform can only wish that “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 4 would premiere in 2019. Otherwise, it opens up to the possibility that the series will start streaming in a much later schedule in 2020.
It is important to note that the hiatus between the two full seasons of the anime series took about three years. So, it might be hard to hear, but there is also the chance that “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 4 gets a 2021 release date in Japan.
Meanwhile, there are debates over the labeling of the anime series’ installments. The next full season is commonly being referred to as “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 4. However, the anime series has only had two full seasons with 24 episodes. The first season was originally released in 2014 through March 2015. It was followed by the “Signs of Holy War” arc with four anime episodes in 2016 that, technically, was not an official full season release. But it has been labeled as “Season 2” on Netflix, in effect, the “Revival of Commandments” that premiered in 2018 was known by many as season 3.
