US Election Series: Trump effects likely to reverberate even if he doesn’t win

Trump effects or the legacy of controversies he will leave behind, even if he doesn’t win likely to reverberate through US economy and Geo-politics for years.

Throughout his campaigns so far, he portrayed himself as a strongman, who is going to fight for American people and given them what they desire.

  • He promised better crime reduced, illegal drug reduced America by building wall across Mexican borders and push the illegal immigrants away from the country.

For better or worse, many people like him, his stance, his appeal to popular angers, hence he is ahead in the race. Even if he loses to Hilary in the final, upcoming US president will have to deal with this popular anger, which was brought forward by Mr. Trump and led to his rise.

Signs are plenty that the upcoming president will be forced to address the issues raised by Mr. Trump.

Hilary Clinton after being for the deal has now became Critical of Trans-pacific trade deal after Mr. Trump voiced his criticism against it.

Despite being critical, US politicians, won’t be able to dismiss anger among general public over Muslims and their love affair with jihads. They may not pursue a temporary ban on Muslims entering US, just as Mr. Trump suggested, but will have to find ways to deal with this popular anger. Every terrorist attack by Muslims, around the world makes Trump arguments stronger, even the one in Brussels today.

It is not just the US politicians fearing Trump’s radical ideas, but Japanese policymakers on the opposite side of the world equally troubled over Mr. Trump’s criticism and implications over pacific trade pact as it would be defeat for Mr. Abe’s government if Japanese parliament passes the deal and it gets blocked in US.

Last night Mr. Trump became critical of US role in NATO and larger contribution, expect other politicians to join such calls, even if he fails to get elected.

All in all, it would be fair to say, Mr. Trump is creating jitters in domestic and foreign policies, which would demand addressing by whoever wins the White House.
