SEATTLE, Feb. 14, 2017 -- The 30-year fixed mortgage rate on Zillow® Mortgages is currently 3.93 percent, unchanged from this time last week. The 30-year fixed mortgage rate fell to 3.86 percent on Thursday, then rose steadily back to the current rate over the rest of the week.
“Mortgage rates fell early last week, but have steadily climbed since Thursday erasing most of those declines,” said Erin Lantz, vice president of mortgages at Zillow. “This week, rates could be volatile around Fed Chair Janet Yellen’s Congressional testimony on Tuesday and Wednesday if members of Congress seek clarity about the Fed’s plans for ending its long-running bond-buying program which has historically helped to lower rates.”
Zillow’s real-time mortgage rates are based on thousands of custom mortgage quotes submitted daily to anonymous borrowers on the Zillow Mortgages site and reflect the most recent changes in the market. These are not marketing rates, or a weekly survey.
The rate for a 15-year fixed home loan is currently 3.12 percent, while the rate for a 5-1 adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) is 2.97 percent.
Below are current rates for 30-year fixed mortgages by state. Additional states’ rates are available at: http://www.zillow.com/mortgage-rates.
