PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., March 23, 2016 -- ACETO Corporation (NASDAQ:ACET), an international company engaged in the marketing, sale and distribution of Human Health products, Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Performance Chemicals, today announced that Rising Pharmaceuticals, Inc., its finished dosage form generics subsidiary, is launching Lithium Carbonate Extended-release Tablets, 300mg, an FDA approved generic version of ANI Pharmaceutical Inc.’s Lithobid®, and Metronidazole Tablets, 250mg and 500mg, an FDA approved generic version of G.D. Searle, LLC’s Flagyl®.
According to IMS Health data, U.S. market sales for Lithium Carbonate Extended-release Tablets, which is used in the treatment of manic-depressive illness, were approximately $21 million for the twelve months ended January 31, 2016. U.S. market sales for Metronidazole Tablets, which is used in the treatment of trichomoniasis, asymptomatic consorts, amebiasis and a variety of anaerobic bacterial infections, were approximately $51 million for the twelve months ended January 31, 2016.
