AbleVets LLC has been named the 2018 Small Business of the Year. The company specializes in engineering and consulting in the fields of cybersecurity, cloud and health IT solutions for federal and commercial organizations. Founded in 2012, AbleVets designs and implements IT modernization solutions that help customers achieve tangible results by achieving a stronger security posture, greater efficiency and better customer engagement.
Robin Rourk, deputy director of small business outreach programs for the Space and Naval Warfare Center–Atlantic, has been recognized as the Small Business Person of the Year for Government. Rourk has demonstrated excellence in small business advocacy, leadership, community/professional outreach, innovation and ethics.
AFCEA’s award for Small Business Person of the Year for Industry goes to Rebecca Andino, president and CEO, Highlight Technologies. Andino has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to AFCEA’s mission, values and activities.
Clairesse Jackson, small business liaison officer, Alion Science and Technology, has been chosen the Small Business Advocate of the Year. Jackson worked tirelessly to support contracts/subcontracts performance, uphold ethics and enhance diversity in the company’s leadership and staff.
AFCEA is the networking foundation for the small business government contracting community. The association’s Small Business corporate member program provides leadership opportunities as well as targeted networking and relationship-building activities. The market visibility AFCEA affords small businesses enhances their success and helps them obtain government recognition.
