MAYNARD, Mass., July 14, 2017 -- Acacia Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:ACIA), a leading provider of high-speed coherent optical interconnect products, announced today that Eric Fisher has joined the company as its new Vice President of Sales. Fisher brings more than two decades of experience leading sales for global hardware companies, most recently as vice president, Americas sales and global key accounts of Intel Corporation.
While at Intel, Fisher led both the Americas sales teams and global key accounts for the programmable solutions group, with a key focus on the largest North American strategic growth accounts, particularly in cloud and data center, wireline, automotive and broadcast markets. He joined Intel through its 2015 acquisition of Altera Corporation, a provider of electronic components for the data center and Internet of Things market segments. While there, he held global and regional sales leadership positions, helping grow the company’s annual sales across key markets. He previously held sales leadership roles with PMC-Sierra and Texas Instruments.
Fisher succeeds John LoMedico, who built Acacia’s business development and sales organizations and was responsible for the company’s sales growth since its founding in 2009. LoMedico will continue as Acacia’s Vice President of Business Development, leading the company’s efforts in developing new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
“Eric has an impressive track record building, developing and mentoring high-performance sales organizations that is highly relevant to our industry, and he will bring extensive value to Acacia as we expand our family of high-speed optical networking products to meet the ever-expanding needs of carriers and content providers,” said Raj Shanmugaraj, Acacia Communications’ President and Chief Executive Officer. “Eric shares our passion for innovation and our drive for growth, all with an eye toward exceeding customer expectations. We believe he will be a tremendous leader for our sales operations.”
Mr. Shanmugaraj added, “With our recent organizational growth and to support continued expansion, we thought it was the right time to expand the leadership team, providing more focus to each role.”
“Acacia is empowering its customers to expand their ability to deliver vast amounts of content and data in a high-performing, highly efficient manner,” said Fisher. “I believe Acacia’s digital signal processing and silicon photonic technologies are well positioned to expand into new markets. I look forward to combining my experience with the company’s innovation to help Acacia as it enters its next phase of growth.”
Fisher holds a B.S. from Missouri University of Science and Technology and an M.B.A. from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine.
