Fans are still clamoring for news about “Adventure Time” season 11, especially after season 10's beautiful four-part finale. While the show was technically already canceled by Cartoon Network at least two years ago, the show's crew were given until 2018 to wrap up. “Adventure Time” season 10 was the result of hard work tying up the show's plot lines.
As “Adventure Time's” season 10 has been confirmed as the show's final season, fans will not be getting an “Adventure Time” season 11 anytime soon. But those who are still looking for their fix for more adventures in the Land of Ooo can look forward to two things that will continue the stories of their favorite “Adventure Time” characters.
BOOM! Studios is releasing a line of serialized comics that will focus on stories after the Great Gum War. Announced during the BOOM! Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the new comic series is titled “Season 11,” in reference to the post-season 10 stories that it aims to tell. The series is to be helmed by Eisner Award-winning writer Sonny Liew, and images will be handled artist Marina Julia, who has worked on previous “Adventure Time” comics.
“Adventure Time's” showrunner, Adam Muto, mentions on askFM that no one from the animated show is involved with BOOM! Studios' series of “Adventure Time” comics titled “Season 11.” Muto goes on to add that any of Finn and Jake's adventures in the comic series will essentially be non-canon.
If the non-canon nature of BOOM! Studios' “Adventure Time Season 11” comics doesn't sit well with fans, there is still the possibility that an “Adventure Time” movie will happen. Muto mentions in an interview with Polygon that the season 10 finale won't be affecting the potential movie's plot, nor will the finale necessarily lead directly into the potential movie.
