A contract-language dispute at Sysco's Los Angeles facility has concluded with a deal involving Teamsters Locals 630 and 848, the company said in a Thursday announcement.

The company said Local 630 represents warehouse workers and Local 848 represents delivery partners. The union said the strike began Oct. 11, with nearly 500 members still on strike as of Oct. 13.

Sysco said the parties had agreed on economic terms. The union said it believed they had reached an agreement and was prepared to accept Sysco’s proposals. The sides remained divided over contract language: Sysco argued the proposal could cause future service interruptions, while the union said it threatened long-standing worker rights.

The union said the protections had carried through its last 10 contracts without causing problems. Sysco warned that customers and communities could face service disruptions during the dispute.

Sysco’s announcement did not spell out the final contract language or say when the facility would return to normal operations.
