SAN DIEGO, May 01, 2018 -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that its Kratos Aircrew Training Center (KATC) in Orlando, FL has been conducting Aerial Gunnery Training (AGT) for Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) Special Mission Aviators.
Kratos’ Aircrew Training Center’s full-mission simulators provide a cost-effective solution by minimizing lifecycle expenses associated with simulator ownership while maintaining training quality. AFGSC aircrew members are led by experienced Kratos instructors and train using the latest technologies and simulation systems to ensure mission readiness.
The contract was awarded last year by KBR’s global government services business, KBRwyle.
As Jose Diaz, Senior Vice President, Kratos Training Solutions explains: “AFGSC recently approved our AGT Simulator to count towards some of the annual Continuation Training requirements. This is further evidence that virtual reality is a viable training alternative to live training. High-fidelity simulation systems can cost millions of dollars to own and sustain. When budget or time constraints prevent acquisition of such systems, the Kratos Aircrew Training Center can provide aircrew members with training equivalent to what they would have received on their own simulator or aircraft while maximizing training budgets and increasing readiness.”
In addition to aerial gunnery training the KATC also delivers training in crew coordination, rescue hoist, and cargo sling operations.
Kratos Training Solutions designs and develops aircrew and maintenance technical training systems for air, land and sea platforms created to enhance warfighter readiness. Kratos has delivered over 100 training systems to the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and other allied forces over the past twenty years while developing a reputation for cost-effective, blended training environments that combine virtual and physical components to maximize training realism and effectiveness.
