The Street Fighter franchise has been one of the most enduring video game properties in the industry. On May 2018, the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection will arrive on the market, which will see all classic titles in the series become available for all major platforms. Out of the 12 games included in the package, four will have online support.
The announcement was made during the 2017 Capcom Cup on Sunday, with Capcom making what might be one of its biggest anthology releases ever, Ars Technica reports. The whole package will become available to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and the Switch for $39.99.
What really makes this upcoming offer so appealing to fans of the series if the fact that it includes every single one of the mainline titles, starting with the original 1987 Street Fighter. With 12 games in the package, some of the spin-off or off-brand titles that have been lumped with the franchise are not going to be included.
Even more impressive is the fact that there is going to be online support for four of the games in the bundle, which consist of ranked matches and even four-player lobbies, Siliconera reports. These titles would be Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike.
Aside from the games themselves, there are also going to be tons of game art and galleries included in the package. There will even be something of a museum tour that depicts the history of the franchise, offering newcomers with the details about the timelines involving the games. After all, there is a bit of plot with every iteration with regards to the characters, no matter how thin.
The exact date of launch has not been revealed yet. More details will be announced come 2018 and the months leading up to the release.
