“Animal Kingdom” Season 4 is only one month away and fans of the crime-drama series can’t wait to see the dysfunctional Cody family. In the last few weeks, TNT has been busy promoting the show and revealing details about who’s included in it.
The new announcement centers around Eddie Ramos. He’ll be playing Tupi, a hostile character who is in desperate need for some cash, Deadline reported. It’s unclear how exactly Tupi will fit in the narrative of “Animal Kingdom” Season 4, but it’s likely that he’ll be part of the new crew that will be interacting with the Codys.
The character is expected to cause some headaches for the Cody gang as he’s the ex of Mia (Sohvi Rodriguez), the late mother of J (Finn Cole). Complicating matters further is the resurfacing of Angela (Emily Deschanel) who is also closely tied with the deceased character. And to top it all off is the arrival of two new faces for “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 coming in the form of Jake (Jon Beavers) and Colin (Grant Harvey).
Both these newcomers are the polar opposite of one another. Jake has been described as an easy-going criminal, while Colin is the hot-headed damaged vet carrying numerous issues. “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 is expected to have Colin and Jake be a part of the Cody gang at some point during the story.
It’s already been hinted that the upcoming installment will be using flashbacks to provide more information about Smurf’s (Ellen Barkin) past. As such, her previous crew will be featured in “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 with Colin and Jake supposedly part of that particular gang. “Mortal Engine” star Leila George is being rumored to play young Smurf and the description of her character provides some clues where the story is headed.
“A street savvy, scrappy survivor. Janine is a nihilist who doesn’t expect to live past 30. She runs with a small crew of men a few years older than her, vets and surfers who steal to support their vagabond life on the road. She realizes very quickly that they are the ones who should be proving themselves to her.” The main take away from that description is “vet.” Since it’s been mentioned that Colin is a character with such background, it’ safe to assume that the speculation above will translate to reality when “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 airs. And speaking of which, the fourth installment has been scheduled to air on May 28, so mark your calendars.
