“Animal Kingdom” season 4 was renewed back in July 2018. It was reported that TNT Network immediately decided to renew the series because it was a big hit as proven by its impressive viewership ratings.
According to Deadline, the show’s 2-night premiere episode for the third installment drew in a total of 4.3 million viewers. In addition, it trended on social media, and they recorded more than one million engagements in the first week of season 3. Thus, TNT immediately ordered for “Animal Kingdom” season 4 and its first teaser was already released just a few days after the third season concluded.
“Animal Kingdom” season 4 will still be based mainly on Australia’s movie that tells the story of the Pettingill family. It is a family of criminals who live in California and Cody matriarch named Smurf (Ellen Barkin) leads the brood.
Although “Animal Kingdom” season 4 is about the Cody family, it will focus more on J Cod (Finn Cole) y, the 17-year-old who was sent to her grandmother Smurf Cody after her mother passed away due to a drug overdose. He will learn many nasty things as he comes to live with Smurf and the rest of his criminal family that includes his uncles Baz (Scott Speedman), Pope (Shawn Hatosy), Craig (Ben Robson) and Deran (Jake Weary).
Plot Prediction
Smurf Cody was jailed in season 3, but while she was mostly in prison for the whole season, her presence was still very strong. Her connections to the things happening outside of the prison was undeniable as her wit and tactics are apparent on how her family dealt with their criminal activities. In any case, she will probably be back to her home in “Animal Kingdom” season 4 and will be backing J Cody more against his uncles who do not really like his presence in the family.
The grandma and grandson will probably team up. However, the question is whether J Cody is up to whatever his grandma is planning. At any rate, more trouble is brewing for each member of the Cody family, and things are getting messier by the minute.
Air Date and Trailer
The first trailer for “Animal Kingdom” season 4 is already out. TNT unveiled the teaser of the hit crime drama in July. Based on the caption, the first episode may feature a title called “Let’s Do It,” although this is not yet confirmed.
“Animal Kingdom” season 4 has no airdate yet, but it was assumed that it could arrive in either May or June of his year. Watch the preview below:
