Anthropic’s premarket contract fell 8% Nov. 6 as a linked short position recorded a $3.76 million unrealized gain ahead of the company’s proposed Nasdaq IPO.

The $50.34 million figure described the position’s size; the $3.76 million figure was its unrealized gain. The two amounts measure different aspects of the short position.

The Nasdaq index also fell 5.52% on Nov. 6. That percentage measures an index move, while the contract’s 8% decline applied to a separate instrument.

Anthropic was nearing a Nasdaq IPO. Its amended filing reported third-quarter revenue of $16.956 billion and an operating loss of $567 million, detailed in an earlier report on Anthropic’s amended filing.
